Reviews and Ratings
The Rex Hotel in District 1 is decent, but with some drawbacks. The rooms are average, and the service lacks warmth. The location is central, but accessibility on weekends is inconvenient. Dining options are limited, and the facilities are mediocre.
My stay at the hotel was pleasant overall. The rooms were spacious and well laid out, although the central triangular area between the rooms seemed a bit outdated. The service, especially from the young lady at guest services, was fabulous, but there were instances where some staff members came across as rude. The central location of the hotel was convenient for exploring Saigon, but the view outside the window was disappointing due to dirtiness and odors. The dining experience offered a good variety of choices, and the facilities were adequate, though not exceptional.
I stayed at the hotel for a few nights, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The rooms looked amazing, well-appointed, and spacious, but unfortunately, mine faced a busy building site that was noisy day and night. The service was a bit weird at times, but the staff worked hard to make things right and even arranged another room for us. The location was very convenient for exploring the city, but the area seemed a bit noisy and not as relaxing as expected. The dining options were adequate, but I wished there was more variety. The facilities were decent, with everything needed for a comfortable stay.
The hotel offers spacious and comfortable rooms, but disappoints with staff service. The location is excellent for exploring the city, and the dining options are of a high standard. The facilities are well-maintained.
The hotel offers quality amenities and the option to customize pillow firmness, but our room was not ready after 3 pm and there was constant construction noise from a nearby site. The staff were pleasant and helpful overall but not very effective over the phone and not the friendliest. The location is excellent for sightseeing, with direct access to a vibrant walking street. The dining experience was top-notch with a great variety of dishes.
The hotel has a brilliant location in District 1, perfect for exploring central Saigon on foot. The rooms offer a balcony with city views but may be noisy due to rooftop activities. The service is exceptional, with staff willing to assist in various arrangements. Dining options are good but somewhat limited in healthy choices. Overall, a great location with some room noise concerns.
The hotel offers spacious, comfortable rooms with many amenities and fast check-ins, although it can be noisy due to smokers. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The Rex Hotel in district one is a bit smaller than I thought due to another private function but offers a convenient location with easy access to main attractions. The rooms are weird and without any view, although spacious but at the west wing, which requires a long walk through a dark alley. The service was uninterested and lacked a welcoming touch, failing to respond to e-mails for airport arrangements. The location is outstanding but tainted by cigarette smell and pigeon droppings, with a glass cabinet full of cigars. The dining experience is really good with many options and a convenient Rex Suite location near the rooftop bar and pool area. The facilities are in need of renovation, although the seafood is good.
The hotel room was really good, although a little jaded. Noise from the floor above and events below impacted my stay. The bed was nice, but the soft furnishings were tired, prompting me to make an additional bed purchase.
The hotel is ideally located in the center, offering convenience for exploring the city. The rooms, though in need of refurbishment, come with balconies; however, the view of roosting pigeons outside the internal window can be off-putting. The service, tailored to Western guests, lacks the warmth found in other Saigon hotels, resembling experiences in former Soviet states. The prime location allows easy access to the market and shopping areas, though beware of taxi overcharging. The dining experience is delightful, offering a wide range of Vietnamese cuisine, making it a standout feature of the stay.
The hotel suite wasn't ready until 5:30 pm, not ideal for a 5-star stay, with limited natural light in the room due to covered windows, but the service was excellent with minor hiccups like the expectation of tipping for various services. The location was perfect, though showing signs of aging and in need of updates, centered near attractions and boasting a friendly staff. The dining experience was fabulous, offering a delicious variety, but the facilities need attention for future events.
